PARADISE BEACH CLUB ~ COZUMEL

We spent a lovely day at Paradise Beach Club while visiting Cozumel as one of our port stops on our Carnival Breeze cruise.

Overall it was a great day. First it was only $3 to enter although you do have to purchase $10 in food or drink to use the facilities as well which was easy to do. You have full access to the beach and pool area with the exception of the inflatables in the ocean. If you want to use those, there is an additional $18pp charge.

The food was very good and the drinks were very tasty as well. They have a fairly large menu of food and drink selections to choose from along with a hot dog wagon on the beach, where you can purchase several different kinds of hot dogs for only $3.50 each.

We took a 10 minute taxi ride to the beach club from the port and arrived around 10:00am. It was not crowded, only a few people around the pool area and the beach was virtually empty. We had the pick of the chairs. We chose to relax around the pool area instead of the beach. We felt the pool chairs would fill up more quickly, so wanted to grab our prime chairs. Everything was very clean around the pool and the beach. The ocean water was clear and calm.

Later in the day the beach and pool filled up but still never felt overly crowded.

They have bathrooms, changing room, and showers down a short walkway. A couple small souvenir stores at the entrance along with one along the beach.  They also have a bar at the beach area as well as next to the pool.  Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

We had several drinks, appetizers and pepperoni pizza and our bill was reasonable. The pizza was very extremely good.

This was our 2nd time here and we will be back. It was a very relaxing day. There was music playing, but not so loud that you couldn’t talk over it. It was the perfect mix of fun and relaxation.

REAL DEAL ROATAN TOURS REVIEW

We recently spent the day in Roatan, Honduras as one of our port stops on our Carnival Breeze cruise. We have been to Honduras twice before and have done totally different types of excursions each time.

This time we wanted to really explore the island and take in some of the beautiful scenery as well as the culture and some local areas.

I was contacted through a facebook roll call cruise group that I was a member of by Johan, the owner of Real Deal Roatan Tours. It was a newer company starting up and he gave me the company’s website as well as their facebook page to view what types of excursions they had to offer.

I normally don’t book with companies that aren’t well known, but this time I made an exception and I am so glad I did. In our 20+ cruises and many travels, I would rank this tour in my top 3.

Real Deal Roatan Tours offers many options for excursions. They will even customize an excursion just for you. Their tours are private with just your family or friends. You don’t have to worry about sharing your excursion with several strangers. So they are very intimate and memorable.

Their website lists many options as well as their island tour which can be customized to add options such as zip linings, horseback riding, snorkeling, glass bottom boat tours and more for an additional charge.

When we arrived and disembarked the cruise ship, we headed up the hill where you meet all the tours companies not associated with the cruise line. They do not allow outside tour companies within the gates of the port of Mahogany Bay  upon arrival, although they can come through the gates when bringing you back from your tour when it is finished. We have done this a couple of times and we have always felt completely safe. You will see many people walking this direction to meet up with their tour companies.  All  the different companies will be lined up, holding their signs with their name to easily identify them.

Johan was waiting for us and he was very easy to find. He brought the car up to pick us up, and we were on our way. Our transportation was a new vehicle and quite comfortable for the 3 of us in our family. Also once the tour was over he was able to drive us right back up to our cruise ship.

On our visit we chose to do an island tour and Johan took our family to see many places. Some were common tourist type places and some more off the beaten path, just what we had wanted. We explained what we were interested in seeing and that is exactly what he gave us. We even got to taste some amazing local chocolates and fresh Honduran coffee. I can’t believe how much we were able to see in the short time we were there.

We always felt very safe throughout our excursion. Johan was very pleasant and accommodating. He was a pleasure to get to know. I would highly recommend an excursion with Real Deal Roatan Tours. Thanks Johan for such a memorable day and hope to spend the day with you again next time we are in Honduras!!!
