CARNIVAL HORIZON HITS NEW YORK PIER

Carnival Cruise Lines newest mega ship The Carnival Horizon hit the west end of Pier 90 upon returning to New York this morning. There appears to be only minor damage to the bow of the ship and no injuries to passengers. The authorities as well as the Coast Guard have been notified and are currently assessing any damages to the pier.

When coming into the harbor in New York it can be quite a process to dock at Pier 90, as the ship has to make a 90 degree turn.

Debarkation today as well as embarkation this afternoon for the next sailing will continue as planned. The Horizon is scheduled to embark on an 8-night Caribbean itinerary this afternoon with port stops San Juan, Amber Cove, & Grand Turk.

PORT CANAVERAL ~ NEW PORT & NEW SHIP 2020

 

Carnival Cruise Line and Canaveral Port Authority have agreed upon construction for a new terminal and it will be able to accommodate Carnival’s new 180,000 ton ship set to debut in 2020. “CHICKEN GUY” TO OPEN IN DISNEY SPRINGS

 

A new eatery to open in Disney Springs in Orlando by one of our favorite celebrity chefs Guy Fieri in partners with restauranteur Robert Earl. What tasty venue is he coming up with now?  Well it appears he is after the chicken lovers this time. The new quick service restaurant named “Chicken Guy”, will prepare hand pounded and breaded fresh all natural chicken tenders and sandwiches which you will be able to pair with more than 20 varieties of house made sauces. You will have the option of grilled or fried chicken with a choice of 2 sauces or one of their chicken sandwiches, with all the fixings, such as the Big Bite B.L.A.T. which has crispy smoked bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato and creamy buttermilk ranch sauce.
