CARNIVAL PANORAMA CHANGES

Everyone on the west coast is gearing up and excited to finally see a brand new ship coming their way. Yes, the Panorama will make her inaugural debut from the Port of Long Beach, December 11, 2019 on a 3 night sailing down to Ensenada and back.

Although the Panorama is a sister ship to the Vista and Horizon, there will be a few changes. A few changes noted so far are that there will not be an IMAX theater, a Thrill theater, or art auctions onboard. The thrill theater seems to be a hit on the Carnival Breeze, but maybe not so much on the Vista class ships.

As everyone is wondering what will take the place of the large area where the IMAX is located, Carnival is keeping it a secret for now. I can tell you that some changes made are in the kid areas. It appears Carnival has gotten it right by putting some of the kid areas in close proximity to one another. With Horizon having Circle C and the Warehouse arcade next to one another on deck 6 and the Thrill theater down the hall and Club O2 down on deck 5. On the Panorama it gets even better and they are placing Club O2 and Circle C next door to each other on deck 6 forward, with Club O2 taking the place of where the Warehouse Arcade is on the Horizon, and a larger Warehouse arcade on the Panorama on deck 6 as well in the area where the Thrill theater is located on the Horizon. Camp Ocean for the little ones will remain up on deck 11.

Now we will just have to wait and see what goes in on decks 7 and 8 where the IMAX is located on the Horizon. There is an empty space there waiting to be announced.   What would you like to see in that space? Personally I think a huge indoor laser tag for adults and kids would be a big hit. It would even be worth a charge to play. But I guess we will all have to sit back and wait to see what all Carnival has in store for the new Mega ship coming at the end of 2019.

MARINER OF THE SEAS ~ GETTING NEW UPDATES

Royal Caribbean has big refurbishment plans in the future for some of their smaller cruise ships. They are really upping their game in the amenities area to compete with all the new mega ships.

One of Royal Caribbean’s ships Mariner of the Seas which holds 3,114 passengers is undergoing a $90 million refurbishment this month (you may call it a complete over haul). There will be many new features added from food venues to fun attractions for the young and old including a waterpark. She is currently at a shipyard in Cadiz, Spain where all the work is taking place before repositioning to Miami in June to sail 3 and 4 night itineraries to the Bahamas with stops in Nassau and Coco Cay which is Royal Caribbean private island.
