Another cruise line reports selling off one of their older ships.
Holland America’s smallest and oldest ship Prinsendam will be leaving the fleet on July 1, 2019. It has recently been sold to Phoenix Reisen.
The Prinsendam holding 835 passengers, was built in 1988 originally as Royal Viking Sun for Royal Viking Line. The ship was operated by Cunard Cruise Line from 1994 through 1998 and then transferred over to Seabourn, where is then became the Seabourn Sun in 1999. In 2002, the ship joined the Holland American fleet and became the Prinsendam.
After July 1st 2019 Prinsendam’s itineraries will be taken over by Rotterdam, Volendam, & Veendam.
