Princess Cruises sent out emails today regarding several important Princess policy updates that will go into effect on Sept 2, 2026, for new bookings made on or after Sep 2, 2026, for voyages sailing Jan 1, 2027 and beyond. These updates include changes to the final payment due date, deposit schedule and cancellation schedule. The updates apply to all voyage lengths.
Final payment will now be due 120 days prior to sailing. This applies to all voyage lengths, including World Cruise and Circle Pacific segments. Bookings will automatically cancel if final payment is not received by the due date.
The standard deposit schedule has been updated. For 7-day voyages, the standard deposit will increase from $250 to $300 per guest for Inside, Oceanview, Balcony and Mini-Suite categories. Suite deposits will increase from $500 to $600 per guest

The cancellation schedule has also been updated to align with the new 120-day final payment due date. A key change is that the 100% cancellation fee will now apply at 60 days or less prior to sailing, compared to the previous 30-day threshold prior to sailing. This applies to all cruises between 1-44 days which is basically most Princess cruises except for their world cruises which were already at 60 days or less.

As a reminder this is just another reason why having travel insurance that also has cancellation coverage is so important before making your final cruise payment, because you never know what can happen in 60 days before your cruise.
