In 2020 Carnival Cruise Lines will be launching a brand-new ship with a familiar name. The Mardi Gras, which was also the name of Carnival’s very first ship launched back in 1972. The Mardi Gras is all about innovation and fun. To start with, it will be the greenest cruise ship in North America and the first to be powered by clean-burning liquefied natural gas (or “LNG”). It will also include innovative entertainment features, like being the first ship ever with an onboard rollercoaster: BOLT.
